Wargame & RPG River Game Tiles

Every tabletop war-gamer must have three things with which to do battle:
1) The rules for whatever system they are playing. 
2) An Army to control.
3) A landscape upon which their army will wage war.  

One of the mainstays of tabletop role-playing is the winding river and it’s addition to the battlefield terrain creates both benefits and hindrances to all armies that encounter it. 

Traditionally, River terrain came in two forms. The first being pieces of hardboard textured and painted to resemble water (but standing proud of the battlefields otherwise flat surface; and the second being thick pieces of foam used to create the battlefield and having the rivers cut deep into them.  Both of these have the same inherent issue, that being the relatively small miniatures used to represent these armies doing battle, would often tip over when crossing this uneven terrain.
